Superbad

From the guy who bought you The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Talladega Nights

Superbad
This raunchy teenage comedy takes place during the last days of high school. Three nerdy guys are desperate for some female action, and are surprised when they are invited to a party by Miss Popularity. Problem is, they've got the supply the booze, which leads them on an adventure involving a fake ID. Once that is secured, they hit the party, only to get a visit from two cops. Meanwhile they're all three working very hard on three very different young ladies. Expect non-stop vulgarity, so don't go if that offends you.

What the Critics say

Cape Argus / The Star
Zane Henry quote iconIt's so bad, it just has to be good.
15
Cape Times
Carina Chocano quote iconFor a film so deliriously smutty, Superbad is supercute.
10
iAfrica.com
Rebekah Kendal quote iconBad to the bone.
13
The Citizen
Bruce Dennill quote iconThis film is not child-friendly — it has a more severe censor's rating in the US, and rightly so — but if you're in a suitable age bracket, you won't see a funnier film this year.
16
Sunday Times
Barry Ronge quote iconThe funniest, dirtiest movie I have seen this year.
10
24.com
Ivan Sadler quote iconBy no means perfect, Superbad is, however, a very funny film with far deeper characters than most teen comedies.
15
BBC
Paul Arendt quote iconA 21st century splicing of those old frathouse favourites Porky's and Revenge Of The Nerds, perfectly pitched at a generation sexually bewildered by a banquet of free pornography.
20
Chicago Sunday Times
Roger Ebert quote iconSuperbad is a four-letter raunch-a-rama with a heart, and an inordinate interest in other key organs.
18
ReelViews
James Berardinelli quote iconThe movie is frequently amusing and occasionally uproarious.
15
Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconIt helps that the fun doesn’t stop. It helps even more that the pitch-perfect script doesn’t step out of character for a joke.
18
ScreenIt
quote iconOne of the raunchiest and, at times, funniest teen sex comedies to come down the cinematic pike in quite some time.
