A serial chain smoker refuses to quit. In desperation, his wife takes him to a rehabilitation centre, where he is forced to sign a contract before the treatment starts. Being weak-willed, he soon breaks the contract and is surprised at the severity of the punishment. After his second infringement, he realises that this is no game, and that the man running the rehab centre is deadly serious. This sets the scene for a battle of wills between the two men, as he wonders if his wife is behind all that is happening to him...
