Part biopic, part detective investigation, this film posits a fictitious investigation into the very real death of a famous Hollywood actor. The actor, George Reeves, became famous playing Superman on television in the 1950s. When the show was dropped, and he could not find other jobs as he was so typecast as Superman, he allegedly committed suicide. Or was it murder? Suspects included his upcoming bride, his ex-lover, or her powerful Hollywood mogul boss. We follow his rise to fame and the investigation as the characters are introduced.
