A character-driven ensemble piece about life as an oyster farmer on a river in Australia. The storyline focuses on a drifter who arrives in town, and proceeds to rob the local fish market. He mails the money to himself, but it never arrives, as the postman lost it in the river. However, other people in town start buying things, arousing his suspicions... In between trying to find his money, he also tries to find love.
