Set in the future, a large group of people have become infected with a blood disease. They have been shunned by the rest of humanity. Now, the healthy people have developed an antigen, designed to kill the sick people. Violet is one of the sick people, but she is extraordinarily talented. She is sent to find and destroy the antigen, but discovers that it is inside a small boy. Her motherly instincts kick in, and she is unable to kill the boy. Instead, she goes on the run with him, protecting him from both the sick and the healthy people. The critics were less than impressed.
