The Poseidon Adventure started a string of disaster movies back in 1972. This remake pumps up the action and special effects, in keeping with modern technology. A luxury liner is hit by a freak wave, which capsizes the vessel. A disparate group of passengers have to battle to stay alive, dealing with the chaos of a burning upside down world.
