A remake of Mel Brooks' popular 1968 movie, which has since become a smash stage musical. The story concerns two scheming Broadway producers, who plan to mount a stage spectacular which they intend to flop, so that they can keep the rest of the up-front money for themselves. Naturally things don't turn out that way and their play is a roaring success, which brings its own problems...
