The Pocohantas story get the big-screen treatment. Set in the 1700s at Jamestown in the USA, it is the tale of an unlikely friendship between a young Indian girl and a womanising sailor. As they get to know each other, and each others' cultures better, events conspire to drive them apart. She finds solace in the arms of a tobacco planter, but this eventually forces her to leave her own people and live with the whites.
