The latest version of this much-filmed children's classic is possibly the most realistic. Oliver, a young orphan, escapes from a bleak orphanage and makes his way to London, where he falls in with the criminal underground. However, a rich young man is also interested in adopting him, and Oliver finds himself torn between these two worlds.
