Set during the civil war in Rwanda, when Hutu tribesmen massacred almost one million Tutsis. A Hutu hotel owner, married to a Tutsi, ends up providing a hiding place for 1000 Tutsis, while violence rages outside. The UN took a passive stance while the blood flowed. The film has numerous award nominations and wins, and comes in at number 89 on the IMDB's Top 250 list at the time of writing.
