A sequel to the oddball comedy ''Get Shorty'', finds our charming leading man deciding to exit the movie business and try his hand at music, after his music-producer pal is gunned down. He signs a promising young black woman, but there are other people interested in her talents, including his pal's widow. That's not a problem for a charmer, as he plays all sides while wangling what he wants.
