Set in the third century BC, during the time of the warring kingdoms in China, this sumptious film offers different interpretations of the same events. A king, wanting to end the warfare by uniting the various kingdoms under his rule, appoints a swordsman to deal with some of his kingly rivals. After the deed is done, the swordsman recounts what happened, but the king offers his own interpretation of events...
