Things are going well for a yuppie couple, until mom dies giving birth to their first daughter. Devastated, dad's life falls apart and he moves back to the old neighbourhood to live with his dad. The daughter grows and he gets a menial job, until he meets an interesting video store clerk. Juggling these two females threatens to scupper his long-planned return to a high income.
