The latest comic book adaptation is based on the lesser-known Hellboy series. It kicks off in 1944, with Nazi scientists trying to get some supernatural help for their cause. All they get is a baby demon, soon appropriated and raised by the Americans. The baby becomes Hellboy, the devil who thinks he is human. As usual there is a baddie trying to get supernatural help for Rasputin, the monk who gave the Romanov's such a hard time in Csarist Russia. So expect lots of special effects and humour, and not much in the way of a sensible plotline.
