Set in the deep south in the US, these two separate stories eventually relate to each other in an unimagined way. Story one is about a ''Forrest Gump'' young man, on parole, who takes a job at a small diner. Before long he has problems with his bully of a boss. Meanwhile, a bored housewife suspects that her husband is cheating on her, and gets her revenge by having a fling with a house painter.
