A remake of the 30-year-old original, delivering gore to a new generation. A group of teenagers en route to a concert pick up a hitchhiker, who proceeds to commit suicide. Distraught, they stop at a spooky mansion to phone the sheriff. Sheriff arrives and accuses them of murdering the hitchhiker. Meanwhile, one of the residents of the mansion begins to use his chainsaw to dispatch the teens one by one...
