A police chief in a small town is having an affair with a married woman, and she makes him the beneficiary of her life insurance policy. Naturally the expected happens, and the police chief becomes the chief suspect. In a desperate race against time, he has to solve a double murder, while staying one step ahead of an investigation lead by his ex-wife.
