An old-time western set in 1882. A group of cattle herders practice ''free grazing'', where they roam around with their cattle eating whatever grass they can find. This often puts them at odds with the land owners. When they come to a town and upset the local tyrant, things start happening. The baddie sets his tame sheriff on the cattlemen, but things don't work out as planned, and some of them are killed. The remaining two set about plotting and executing revenge, while being mildly distracted by a love interest.
