A teenage girl has a talent for poetry. Unfortunately, her home life is a mess -- dad is gone, mom studies at night, and so she is a surrogate parent to her younger sister, who is very troubled. A male teacher at school takes an interest in her poetry, encouraging her to enter a national competition. However, his interest in her starts to become more that just poetic, leading to a kind-of Lolita situation, but this time viewed from the girl's perspective.
