A novelist with an urgent need to crank out a book in 30 days, hires a pretty young typist to type, while he dictates. She does more than type, offering comments on the novel he is writing. Said novel is set in 1924, and the film switches back and forth between then and now, as we follow the romances of the characters in the novel, played by the same two leads. Overseas critics have said that this is not one of the director's best movies.
