Spirited Away
This highly-rated Japanese animated movie follows the adventures
of a little girl who finds herself in a mysterious amusement
park. It has a special building which functions as a
bathhouse for spirits. Unfortunately, it's one of those places
that, once you enter, you can't leave. She makes friends with a
young boy who tries his best to help her. Some comments from
Roger Ebert: "It has been flawlessly dubbed into English
by John Lasseter (Toy Story), it was co-winner of this
year's Berlin Film Festival against 'regular' movies,
it passed 'Titanic' to become the top-grossing film
in Japanese history, and it is the first film ever to
make more than $200 million before opening in America."125 minutes, Parental Guidance. Drama, Family movie, Fantasy. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

Ian Douglas: An interesting change from the usual Disney offerings, this movie has a complex storyline and is almost
more aimed at adults than the little ones. Note the longish (for animated) running time, which may be too long for the anklebiters.
Other than that, the ratings speak for themselves...
