The Devil's Backbone

This ghost story is set in an orphanage in Spain, at the tail end of the Spanish civil war. A young boy arrives, and is given the bed of a boy who recently died, and whose ghost is said to haunt the area. Apart from dealing with the creepy janitor, and the class bully, the young boy starts seeing weird apparitions and visions, which seem related to the dead boy. Unfortunately we can't reveal more without spoiling the plot. Although it is in Spanish with English subtitles, don't let that put you off if you are a fan of the genre. Check the ratings.
