This adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear features an ambitious yet struggling British boxing promoter who has his dream bout arranged -- his own son is fighting a fearsome black American. His son does not handle the situation well, and things get even worse when the cops arrive, to arrest his son for involvement in illegal underground fights. Next thing, we are into a revenge flick not too distant from that famous Caine vehicle, the original ''Get Carter''.
