Like ''The Ring'' (released two weeks ago), this movie is
also based on a Japanese horror movie (also named ''The Ring'').
Instead of a video tape, the source of evil in this case is
a web site. Anyone visiting the web site dies mysteriously 48 hours
later, usually in the way they most feared dying. A young detective,
frustrated by his inability to catch a serial killer, teams up
with a researcher to solve four recent accidental deaths, which
they learn are connected by the web site. The detective decides
to log onto the site, leaving them with only 48 hours to
solve the problem.95 minutes, No persons under 18. Mystery, Horror, Thriller. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

| Ian Douglas: Geez, what a confused mish mash. Towards the end, all logic (even by Hollywood standards) flies out the window and is replaced by a bizarre collage of images. Hollywood is starting to get a clue about how computers work, but is all at sea regarding the Net (ever heard of DNS and traceroute?), and especially, bandwidth issues. This miseducation is not helping. The real problem with this movie is the script, which seems to have left out bits, apart from having serious logic flaws and no idea of how to resolve the story. |
