Set in 1938, this is the tale of a young Jewish woman who leaves her wealthy family in Germany, to join her lawyer husband on his farm in Africa. She takes her young daughter with. As time goes by and they learn of the things taking place back in their homeland, they come to identify more strongly with their new African home. The film has won numerous awards, especially in Germany. German language with English subtitles.
