The unlikely couple, she a do-good lawyer working for him, a wealthy property developer, spend five years in close daily contact. Now, she wants out, and he agrees, as long as she finds a replacement. Said replacement is young and pretty, and makes it obvious that she has a thing for her new boss. Our heroine feels the first pangs of jealousy, and he suddenly realises that he is losing the woman he loves... 101 minutes, Parental Guidance. Comedy, Romance. Ian Douglas: Good Valentine Day's fare. Not exactly ''Notting Hill'' (although it does feature yet another cop from TV's The Thin Blue Line), but it has a very witty script, with Grant delivering throwaway one-liners expertly. Bullock does something of a reprieve of her ''Miss Congeniality'' role (ugly duckling into beautiful swan). All in all, a pleasant evening's entertainment, with a good stream of laughs.
