A woman, suffering from an hormonal imbalance that gives her excessive body hair, retreats into the wilds to avoid people, and becomes a successful nature writer. However, her desire for love becomes too strong, so she gets treatment for her excess body hair, and meets and falls in love with a male scientist. One day, in the wilds, they discover a feral man, who thinks he is an ape. Her boyfriend decides to bring him back to civilization and teach him modern manners. This leads to conflict, as she is not sure what this is the right thing to do.
