Gripsholm
Set in the 1930s in Sweden, a German writer and his girlfriend
take a holiday at a Swedish castle, to escape the growing
political and legal pressure mounting against his pacifist activism
back home in Germany. A visit by an old friend, a Nazi sympathiser,
reminds him of events back home. The film is an examination of
the problems facing German intellectuals under the Nazi regime.
German and Swedish, with English subtitles. 100 minutes. No persons under 13 (Sex). Drama, Romance.
