After a teenage surfer reads a particular book 52 times, he decides to become a writer, studying at Stanford under his favourite author. When a screw-up with his application leads to a rejection letter, he, his outrageous buddy, and girlfriend decide to make a last ditch road-trip attempt to get into the college. Naturally, mayhem ensues...
