You're so sweet I feel really bad about dumping you...
In this somewhat-biographical tale, pop star Mariah tells the story of a poor girl with a great voice, raised by foster parents, as her mother was inadequate. We follow her successful journey from obscurity to the pinacle of popular music stardom, with the complications that success brings to your personal life.
Ian Douglas: I see the foreign press hated this... I did not think it was so bad, and will likely find favour with the target
market, which is Mariah's fan club. Mariah spends most of the movie with a permanent toothy grin on her face, which, while
pleasant on the eye, does tire after a while. She seems out of control of her life much of the time, instead relying on the
various men around her to make things happen. This is not a positive role model :-)
