Bride of the Wind

Would you like fries with that? A costume drama set around the late 1800 to early 1900s. Our heroine is a strong, attractive and sexual woman, who, over the course of the years, was the lover and wife of a string of prominent men, including composer Gustav Mahler, artist Gustav Klimt, architect Walter Gropious, and artist Oskar Kokoscka, who used her as the inspiration for his famous painting, ''Bride of the Wind''.

100 minutes, Parental Guidance.
Drama, Romance.

Ian Douglas: Mmmm.. I thought this might appeal more to the women, but judging from the foreign ratings, they were not too impressed either. It's hard to say what is wrong with the movie... it has great sets, costumes and music, but there is something about the story that doesn't work. Maybe it is because the heroine comes across as having a voracious appetite for new male conquests, so she ends up looking somewhat slutty. I suppose for her time she was likely as notorious and controversial as Madonna is today.
