A documentary of the ascent of Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world. As they were making the film in 1996, the worst tragedy on the mountain took place, when 23 other climbers were caught in a whiteout. Eight of them died, and the film crew was on hand to capture the aftermath and rescue attempts. Some of the crew eventually made it to the summit, and viewers get to share the breathtaking view from the top.
