Angel Eyes

While the trailers have tried to market this as a supernatural thriller, it is in fact an old-fashioned weepy. A female cop is rescued from a bad situation by a mysterious loner. Soon, they strike up a relationship, although the man is obviously hiding a great deal about his past. In the meantime, the cop is having to deal with family problems -- her father used to beat her mother, she arrested him, and now, her parents are reconciling -- which, together with her growing love for the stranger, causes a great deal of emotional stress in her life.
