A 20-year-old black man, still living with his 36-year-old single mother, has two babies by different young women, no job and no desire to do anything except just coast along. When his mother gets involved with a new man, he feels pressured to move out. Meanwhile, his volatile relationship with the mother of his second child hits bedrock when she insists that he commits to their relationship. Then her ex-boyfriend, a thug, returns from prison and things get violent.
