Upstairs or downstairs, whatever you like... Just pay the rent!
An ambitious yet unsuccessful man launches his latest scheme, much to his wife's displeasure. He buys a double story home, intending to live upstairs and run a pub downstairs. One minor problem: the current residents (pregnant wife and all) refuse to leave. When the wife gives birth, the husband leaves, and our hero finds a low-rent place for the woman and baby to stay. And so an unusual friendship begins, where our hero seeks refuge away from his own unpleasant wife. Based on a true story, and a Sundance Festival award winner.
