My Mother Frank
While struggling to come to grips with the passing away last
year of her husband, a housewife decides to follow her teenage
son's suggestion and go to university. This turns out a bit
differently to what the son had expected (would you like your
mother cramping your style?), as well as to what she had expected,
when her English professor is a really unpleasant stick-in-the-mud.
Then she finds out she has a nasty disease as well...93 minutes, Parental Guidance (Language). Comedy, On the Art Circuit.

Ian Douglas: Offbeat Aussie comedy with some merit. I left the cinema wondering exactly who the target market for this will be: the main plot revolves around the mother, which is unlikely to appeal to the teens. The minor plot is about the son's fantasies and romance with his best mate's girl, which is unlikely to appeal to cinemagoers attracted to the main plot... Maybe it will work as a family movie -- mom, pop and the teenagers...
Laura Crowe (16): I thought this movie was great, the light hearted humour, the relationships between all the characters, I thought if you looked into Frank's character more you'd see how strong and great she really was. I loved this movie. |
