Dr Dolittle, the man who talks to animals, is challenged by a beaver with ''family'' connections to stop a deforestation project, and so save the habitat of the wild animals. His only hope is in getting a circus bear to hit it off with the female bear living in the woods, make some babies, and thus provide a legal reason to prevent the destruction of the forest. This is not so simple, as said circus bear is way too civilised and a real City Gent, and finds roughing it in the woods rather, well, rough. And the lady bear is of course not impressed -- she needs a real ''he bear'' to satisfy her...
Ian Douglas: Well, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, given that I don't like Murphy's exaggerated style of acting. Most of the humour is okay, except for the mandatory (in this type of film) smelly toilet scene. No doubt it will do wonders at the box office...
