State and Main
A Hollywood film crew arrives in a small town to film a movie.
Things are not going well for the production company -- they
are having location and budget problems, and their leading
man has a thing for under-age girls. The local townspeople
initially welcome the crew, but then realise there is a lot
of money at stake and greed rears its ugly head. The main
plot revolves around the scriptwriter who is searching for
his role in life, and he falls in love with a young woman
engaged to an up-and-coming local politician. Things come to
a head when the leading man wrecks his car while he has a local
girl with him.104 minutes, No persons under 13 (Language). Comedy, Drama, Romance. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

Ian Douglas: A well-rated effort from a well-respected writer and director, this film will appeal to those who like their humour on the subtle side. Mamet really satirises Hollywood, its double standards and weird morality in this send-up. A gentle romantic comedy with some great dialogue.
