On the day of his retirement, a police detective becomes involved in the investigation of the murder of a little girl. The cops soon have a suspect, but something just doesn't seem right. After retiring, the detective can't let go of the case -- or his pledge to the dead girl's mother to find the killer. Things get more complicated when he becomes involved with a woman and her young daughter, who bears an unhealthy resemblance to the murdered girl...
