Nurse Betty

Daytime soaps are so unreal... A young waitress, fascinated by a television soap opera, slips into a confused state after witnessing her husband's murder. She thinks that the characters on the show are real, and that she was one of them, having a relationship with the leading doctor. So she treks across the country to Los Angeles, to rejoin the show. The two men who killed her husband are after the cocaine in her boot, and follow her...

Ian Douglas: Slightly offbeat movie. At times funny, at times very violent, at times romantic comedy. I'm not sure if the makers were trying to cover all the bases or just got confused. The story is presented as "based on true events" but seems way too far-fetched for me. Unless, "only in America"...

Steyn du Toit (19): This is one of those movies that should have the "Kids, don't try this at home" warning at the beginning and end. The film shows how it is "okay" to create a world of your own and live in it too if reality becomes to much for you too handle. Very funny though, although the violence scenes didn't quite fit in with the whole atmosphere of the movie. Great acting! Probably the performance of a lifetime for Zellweger. Must see.
