Set in Ireland, a poor schoolboy has dreams of playing for his local soccer team. Being a little bit off form, he is inpired to take up Samba dancing by a Brazillian soccer star, to help his rhythym. At dancing class, he meets the daughter of a wealthy local businessman, and falls in love. She is already involved with another snob, and is only concerned with winning the upcoming dancing championship...
Ian Douglas: The plotline is hardly original, but this version has a number of interesting twists and surprises which save it from being yet another ''Ugly Duckling Becomes A Swan On The Dance Floor'' cliche. Aimed squarly at the teen date market, where it should find favour. We are left wondering why it was not called ''Mad About Samba'' ...
