A re-release of the 1964 black-and-white film, we follow the Beatles on a ''typical'' day as they head down to the coast for a live television broadcast. Apart from their manager, Paul's ''grandad'' also goes along for a day out. He turns out to be a real troublemaker, causing no end of mischief. In essence, the plotline is merely an excuse to give the lads a chance to perform some of their popular numbers.

Ian Douglas: A difficult movie to rate. Not much to the story, it tends to be episodic, with very few musical numbers. Beatles fans will no doubt love it, while today's youngsters may wonder why everyone still raves about the Beatles, who come across as a slightly nerdy and witty bunch of pleasant fellows more interested in having fun than being superstars.
