A golfing hot-shot comes back from World War I broken and disillusioned. His ex, who has inherited a golf club, persuades him to take part in a tourament with two of golfing's greats, in an effort to save the club. His chances of winning seem hopeless until a caddy wanders into his life, sprouting wisdom and encouragement, and helps him get back on his feet.
