O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Loosely based on Homer's ''The Odyssey'', this is a very
updated version of the adventures of Ulysses. Our hero and his
two sidekicks escape from a chain gang and head for home, during
the depression years in America. Arriving near home, he discovers
that his wife is about to remarry, which causes him no end of
grief. So he immediately sets about trying to win her back.
Along the way the trio has all sorts of adventures with the
weird and wacky people they meet, and even record a song
to make some money. The film features some great hillbilly
and bluegrass music.106 minutes, Parental Guidance (Language, Violence). Comedy, Crime, Drama, Musical. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

Ian Douglas: The music makes this movie. Otherwise, it is just another road movie with amusing episodes. There is a huge hole in the plot which is glossed over. Some good laughs.
Kirsten Gouws (16): Different from the average movie, Entertaining though. |
