The Colour of Paradise

He loves me, he loves me not.... Set in Iran, a young blind boy returns from a year at blind school, to his family in the countryside. However, his widowed father, keen to remarry, feels the boy to be a hinderance in his plans, and so takes him away to be an apprentice to a blind carpetmaker. The film is a religious parable, there is plenty of social commentary just under the surface.
