Times are hard and money is scarce, making them easy prey for the moneylender. However her indomitable nature endures, and, together with support from friends, she triumphs. Ian Douglas: This film will probably find more favour with the female audience, it may be a bit too soppy for guys. It does remind one of Angela's Ashes (being another poor-Irish tale). Some good performances and a nice cameo by Tom Jones, playing himself.
