Agnes Browne
Set in Ireland a few decades back, we pick up the story
as a recently widowed woman and her brood try to carry on
with their life. Times are hard and money is scarce, making
them easy prey for the moneylender. However her indomitable
nature endures, and, together with support from friends, she
triumphs. Her best mate, however, is not so fortunate. Expect
a brief romantic interlude with Tom Jones.92 minutes, Parental Guidance (Language). Comedy, Drama, Female interest.

Ian Douglas: This film will probably find more favour with the female audience, it may be a bit too soppy for guys. It does remind one of Angela's Ashes (being another poor-Irish tale). Some good performances and a nice cameo by Tom Jones, playing himself.
