Somewhat reminiscent at the beginning of ''Stigmata''... a Catholic investigator is sent to investigate a weeping statue, amid requests from the locals that the woman in question be declared a saint. As his own faith is wavering, the priest is desperately seeking miraculous proof. Along the way he meets the daughter of the woman, and falls in love, further complicating his life. He is set for a showdown with the so-called ''devil's advocate'', who opposes the sainthood.
Ian Douglas: I found the storyline rather pedestrian, especially as it came to rely on so-called miraculous events. In that respect, it is probably more Catholic-friendly than Stigmata, End of Days and Dogma.
