Holy Smoke
Set down in Australia, this is the story of an attempted unconversion
that goes horribly wrong. A young woman on a trip to India
joins one of the many sects there. Her family, duly concerned,
get her back to Oz, and import an "Exit Counsellor" to talk
some sense into her. However, unusual things can happen when
a man and a woman are alone for three days...

Ian Douglas: Hoo boy. What starts out with an interesting premise and lots of promise fails to deliver, unless you count several shots of Kate in the altogether (full frontal) as delivery. My comment afterwards was, "I've never seen a film go downhill so fast". Another critic with more experience than me described it as the worst she had ever seen (and believe me, the press get to see some really bad movies). I think the problem is that he writers/director got funding for the film on the premise alone, before the script was even written. I think they had a good idea but headed off in the wrong direction with no way back.
Kashif Gulzar (30): Good. Not Bad!
Andrew Simpson (17): Brilliant acting but the ending was very poor. I expected a bit better from Harvey Keitel.
