The End of the AffairBased on the Graham Greene novel, this is basically a love triangle (quadrangle?) set around World War II London. Our hero falls back in love with his mistress, who had dumped him two years previously. Problem is, she is still married. But that little problem does not stand in his way. Determined to learn more about her, he hires a private investigator to spy on her. Along the way he pours his hatred out into his typewriter, eventually bringing God into the picture too.Don't compare it to the novel or you'll be disappointed. The film has been nominated for ten BAFTA awards, including all five big ones. 101 minutes, No persons under 16. Drama, Romance, Sex. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

Ian Douglas: Slow moving drama, with bits of gratuitous bonking thrown in, to add some life to what for the rest is bleak and dull. Should appeal to an older female audience.
