White River Kid

 A generous hawker of low quality socks disguises himself as a monk to avoid the low level corruption of local sheriffs. He and his dreamer sidekick travel about Arkansas, selling their socks and bumping into a variety of people, including the White River Kid, a reformed killer recently engaged. The sidekick tries to set up a protection racket, which annoys the local mobster. And then love and jealousies step in to further complicate matters.
